Motley Crue : London Hammersmith Apollo : 12.06.2007 |
Sorry no photos as they confiscated my
camera!!! |
We endured the nu-metal crooning of Papa Roach before the Crue hit the stage and it was immediately clear that this was going to be a much more stripped down affair. The second thing that became apparent was that Tommy Lee was not drumming, Tommy had sustained a shoulder injury at Download and was replaced by Evanescence drummer Will Hunt. The Crue kicked off with Dr Feelgood and it seemed that Vince was in great from. His vocals were enthusiastic and although there was not much chat from him for the most part of the show, he did bounce around the stage with plenty of energy. Now anyone who is at all familiar with this site will know that Motley are my favourite band of all time but.... the London show left a lot to be desired. The sound was terrible, Nikki Sixx appeared to be very annoyed with whatever was going on at the side of the stage, Mick's guitar playing was not his usual high standard and although Tommy was not behind the drum kit it didn't stop him appearing for the 'When i say Motley, you say Crue' rap!! All that aside we enjoyed ourselves and there was moments such as 'Primal Scream', 'Louder than Hell' and 'Live Wire' when everything seemed to come together perfectly. It was a shorter set than we had previously seen and alot of the older tracks were missing along with 'Sick Love song'. To sum up, I was glad we went and it wouldn't put me off going to see Motley again but I would prefer to remember the 'Red White and Crue' tour. 7/10 Kerri |
