One sure way to have fun on a Saturday
night in Belfast is to go and see a Tribute band . Hotter than Hell, a
tribute to KISS were certainly fun.
Quite a crowd had gathered at the Empire and everyone seemed to have a
most excellent time
(Bill and Ted Quote!!!).
The lights went down and before the guys hit the stage the Empire was
filled with sounds of Queen's 'We will Rock you' and Hotter than Hell
certainly did.
Kicking of with 'Detroit rock City' the band hit the stage in full KISS
make up and costumes. It was a sight to behold.
Clearly no expense is spared with the live show with explosions, fireworks,
smoking guitars and a fire breathing, blood spitting 'Gene Simmons' (aka
Andrew Touch). The show was not only great to watch, it was great to listen
to as well.
All the hits were there, 'Love Gun', 'Cold Gin', 'Strutter' and my personal
favourite 'Lick it up'. The whole of the Empire seemed to be going mad
dancing to 'Crazy Crazy nights'.
Crowd participation was high throughout the night as 'Paul Stanley' (aka
Marty Mc Stravick) had everyone singing along to 'I was made for loving
you'.
And what other way could a KISS tribute finish of the night than 'God
gave Rock N Roll to you' (cigarette lighters ahoy) and 'Rock N Roll All
nite' (to which everyone was up dancing).
Hotter than Hell are a great tribute to KISS and put allot of effort into
both their look and sound. Saturday was definitely a crazy, crazy night!!!
