Th Nastys
Good times, Gone bad
2005

(unsigned)

The Nastys are: Chad Cherry: Vocals, Danny Smash: Drums, Wurm: Lead Guitar, Joey Menace: Bass, and Dave Jade: Rhythm guitar. They formed in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2001 and Good Time Gone Bad is their third EP. I’ll definitely be trying to get my hands on their previous EP’s, one of which was recorded with Faster Pussycat’s Brent Muscat.

Their website shows an endorsement from Vince Neil, who says “The Nasty’s rock!” Vince must have been sober that day, because he’s absolutely right!

The piano on Bad Doctor makes it sound very New York Dolls-ish, and I think it’s the best of this six song EP. All of them are great, though- from the lyrics about spilling whisky on F.W.W., to the “Yeah!” at the start of She Loves The Money; each song makes you want to dance around your living room with a bottle of Jack Daniels in your hand. Best keep the curtains closed if you do.
