This self-titled demo is The Gourami’s third release.

Of the two songs on this release, I prefer She Is Real- it is classic rock, with a catchy chorus and I really like Scott Gourami’s vocals. They cite Velvet Revolver as an influence, and you can definitely hear this influence in both the music and the vocals.

I like the verses of Take The Cash And Run; not so keen on the chorus, but it’s still a really good song and it’s a pity that there are so few songs on this demo.

Both songs are of very high quality, and for a three-piece they make a hell of a lot of noise! If you like good old-fashioned rock and roll, then you’ll like The Gourami. I’m guessing that these songs would sound fantastic live, as both of them sound full of energy.

The band describe their sound as “dirt rock” and it’s easy to see why- they are a mixture of ‘70’s classic rock and the blues.

The Gourami hope to release their debut Dirt Rock City sometime this year. On the strength of this demo, I hope so too.
