Brides of Destruction-
Runaway Brides
2005

Shrapnel

I had been looking forward to the release of the Brides next album for some time as my only criticism of "Here come the brides" was that it was to short. The Brides' have had a hard time of it lately with Nikki Sixx leaving to concentrate on the newly reformed Motley Crue and the well documented fall out with him and Tracii Guns. Nikki was replaced on Bass by ex-Amen Scott Sorry. Then ex Wildheart Ginger joined and if you believe everything you read in the papers, was asked to leave as London Le Grand felt threatened by having such an experienced front man in the band!!!???

No one seemed to be holding out much faith that the Bride's could produce a good album without Nikki, and although he was involved in writing three of the songs, they may have been right, Runaway Brides is simply a very poor album. From the bizarre piano intro that doesn't appear to have any connection with the rest of the songs to the terrible wailing of London on "Never Say Never". In my humble opinion they should have omitted the weird piano/rain intro and started straight in with "Lord of the mind" and "Dead Mans Ruin" which are two of the stronger tracks on the album. These two tracks hint more at what that Bride's are capable of with Tracii's catchy riffs. Interestingly neither was written by Mr Sixx. Neither was "White Horse"which unless my ears deceive me has exactly the same intro as the Crue song "Red Hot"!!!!!!!!

Don't even start me on "Dime's in Heaven", maybe there he can't hear the racket that has been dedicated to him by the Bride's. It's terrible i doesn't even have any sort of melody.

And what does "album concept by Tracii" mean, what concept??? It's not like it's the Wall by Pink Floyd!!

Pull it together for the next album please, if only to prove to people that you can recreate the sound of "Here come the Bride's" without Nikki.
Take my advice and do yourself a favour and buy LA Guns "Tales from the strip" instead!
