Roth to tour with Van Halen??!!
At HMI we have become slightly cynical about the things that we read on the internet, between the whole 'Crue to play Dublin' and 'GNR to release Chinese Democracy' incidents is it any wonder. But we are only reporting what we is said on Billboard.com. That is that Van Halen are set to tour and the new line-up will include Dave Lee Roth!! Apparently contracts are ready to be signed and Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's son) is to replace bassist Michael Anthony.
But remember folks we are only passing on info, so if it doesn't happen, don't shoot the messengers!

The Dirt movie
Vince Neil has revealed that several big stars will have cameo roles in the movie adaptation of the Crue’s bestseller ‘The Dirt.’ Bizarrely, Christopher Walken will play Ozzy Osbourne, while Val Kilmer will take the role of David Lee Roth… is Vince drunk again?
Like the Loch Ness monster, Brigadoon, and Chinese Democracy; we’re not really sure if this movie actually exists, but we guess this latest revelation shows some progress on the whole thing.

Welsh hair metallers Tigertailz have given an update on bassist Pepsi Tate, who has been diagnosed with a stomach condition that can cause internal muscle seizure. Pepsi is currently out of hospital, having undergone treatment and tests. At the moment, it’s unclear whether he’ll be able to perform at the Wildside Festival in Nottingham, where the band are scheduled to play on November 18th.
We wish Pepsi all the best- in fact since HMI began there seems to have been various illnesses befalling glam musicians. Perhaps it’s us?!

Dave Lepard
The remaining members of Crash Diet have started a forum for people to visit and leave there thoughts and memory's on Dave. To visit the forum please click here. No more details have emerged on the frontmans sudden and tragic death.

HMI Updates.
There have been new band profiles, links and reviews added in the past few days so check them out.

Slippery when wet.
Jon and his band mates had a close call, when the Boeing 707 they were traveling on, over shot the runway in Canada. Luckily no one was seriously injured and Bon Jovi stated for the record that they were in fact NOT dead, as had been previously reported.

'Hey man, we're alive...'
Izzy is busy.
It is reported that former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin may make several new albums available in 2006 and 2007, one of which could be ‘Like A Dog’, an album that was recorded in 2003 but never released. Other material may include rarities featuring ex-bandmates Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.
Chinese Democracy and now new Stradlin material? It could be a very good year for Guns N’ Roses fans!
More details on the death of Dave Lepard. Following the announcement yesterday (20th January) that CrashDiet frontman Dave Lepard had died, more details have now emerged.
Apparently Lepard had not been in contact with friends or family for three weeks. Police entered his apartment in Uppsala, Sweden just before 1am yesterday morning following the discovery of his body by a close friend. A police spokesperson has stated that the cause of death is unknown but that foul play has been ruled out.
It is rumoured that in recent weeks the other members of CrashDiet had become increasingly annoyed with Lepard’s drug use, and had either left the band or were considering it. They have declined to make comment to the media as yet.
Describing his lifestyle recently, Lepard said: "You live in chaos, depend on welfare, are an addict and things fucking suck. That's why it often collides with the music; it's too much of the good stuff and the music is affected. You would need 48 hours per day, but you're so fucking stupid and get your priorities wrong."

HMI says 'Congratulations to the Crue'
Motley Crue will be honoured with a star on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk Of Fame this Wednesday, 25th January by Honourary Mayor of Hollywood Johnny Grant and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President Leron Gubler.
It will be situated at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Musician's Institute, and will be the 2301st star on the Walk Of Fame.
It's about time someone decent got a star- when HMI was in LA we couldn't find anyone we liked on Hollywood Boulevard!
You deserve it guy's!!
Crash Diet are no more
In a statement to the press the remaining members of Crash Diet, Martin Sweet, Peter London and Eric Young have said that Crash Diet will no longer be continuing as a band following the tragic death of Dave Lepard. This is a great loss to the world of sleaze metal but as the band stated they 'consisted of 4 people and now one has left us'.
Lead Singer of Crash Diet found dead.
20.01.06
HMI were saddened to hear of the death of Dave Lepard (pictured) from Swedish sleaze metal band Crash Diet. He was only 25. The band released an excellent album and we had high hopes for them in the future. We offer our condolences to the rest of the band and his family. His cause of death remains unofficial as yet.
Tommy Lee creates gothic/disco hybrid.
Tommy Lee has apparently recorded a cover of the song Love Train; originally recorded by soul band the O’Jay’s in 1972, for the soundtrack to Final Destination 3. HMI cannot begin to imagine what this will sound like- nor do we want to. Tommy, we love you, but just… stop it.
"I've always loved the song 'Love Train', and it was great being able to put my own darker spin on it for the movie," he said. A darker spin? How can you make the lyrics “People all over the world, join hands…start a love train” dark?
The mind boggles.

Disturbed get 'Lynched'!!
Former Dokken guitarist George Lynch is allegedly to make a guest appearance at Disturbed’s House of Blues gig in Anaheim, California on Sunday January 22nd. Having just completed a tour of the US with Vinny Appice (Dio, Black Sabbath) and Lizzy Borden’s Marten Andersson, HMI has no idea why George would do such a thing. Okay, so Dokken were never the most credible band, but come on… Disturbed??
Anyway, get down with the sickness, George. Or something.
'Crazy Bitch'
The new Buckcherry song 'Crazy Bitch' is available for download on Yahoo!! It is taken from the bands forthcoming album '15' which is their first release since 2001's 'Time Bomb' It shall be available in stores from 11.04.06. You can also listen to 'Crazy Bitch' at Buckcherry's myspace.
Monsters of Rock acts announced.
According to METAL HAMMER, the following acts have been confirmed for the MONSTERS OF ROCK FESTIVAL: Deep Purple and Alice Cooper. Many more acts will be announced over the coming weeks, but the news of the Coop playing should be enough to please anyone!
The festival will take place on June 3rd 2006 at Milton Keynes Bowl, and you can buy tickets for £38.50 from January 20th. Call 0870 400 0688 for credit card payments.
HMI wait for further line up details eagerly… can’t beat a festival and some booze.
Axl states 'Album will be released this Year'
Axl Rose has recently stated in an interview that the next G N R album 'Chinese Democracy' will be released this year. He denied rumors of a reunion with Slash and Duff, saying that he hadn't spoken to them in years. When probed about the length of time 'Chinese Democracy' is taking to record he repiled 'It's a complex record'. It must be!!!
We await with bated breath Axl. HMI will probably have a record out first!!
Union! Back for more
John Corabi and Bruce Killick have put their own projects aside for the time being and have reformed the band Union enlisting the services of Alice Cooper's bassist Chuck Garric and Cinderella's drummer Fred Coury and are planning to tour the UK in support of the their new DVD 'Do your own thing - Live!'. They state that presently there is no plans to record a third album but HMI will keep you informed.
Danko's drummer quits.
Damon Richardson has left Danko Jones. Damon who has played with Danko Jones for the past 5 years has quit the band. Session musician Dan Cornelius has replaced him.
Rattlesnake Remedy Tour and Single release.
UK hard rock band Rattlesnake Remedy's debut single 'Drag You Down' will be released in May. The band are sure to raise their profile as they are on tour for the rest of the year with dates in the UK, Finland and Holland. HMI are going along to see them support the UK Guns n Roses on Saturday 21st January the Belfast Empire, so check back for a review of the show.
Guns joins Quiet Riot
According to Metal Sludge, guitar whore, Tracii Guns, joined 80’s metallers Quiet Riot.
He lasted three weeks before quitting the band stating it wasn't for him. He now states that rather than returning to the Brides of Destruction he is going to go on tour as the Tracii Guns Trio. We are unsure who the other two members are. Probably Tracii's other personality's!!!
Adler replaces entire band
Steven Adler has apparently sacked or replaced the entire line up of his band, Adler’s Appetite. Gone are Kerri Kelli, Craig Belford and Robbie Crane, and in are Chip Z’Nuff from Enuff Z’Nuff, Michael Thomas from the Beautiful Creatures and JT Longoria from Izzy Stradlin.
Adler’s Appetite play the Rosetta Bar, Belfast on February 3rd 2006, and Whelan’s, Dublin the following night. Support comes from Northern Ireland’s Twisted Rose on both dates and Nice 'N' Sleezy in Belfast.
Buy a ticket. Remember, Steven has to pay the ‘rent’ somehow.

Crystal Pistol to tour UK!!
The January issue of Classic Rock has a brief article on Canadian sleaze rockers Crystal Pistol, saying that the band are "girding their loins for their debut assault on the UK in 2006."This is VERY exciting news, and let’s just hope a decent tour is announced. A Belfast date is probably too much to hope for, but rest assured that we will put ourselves out to attend one of the gigs. All in the name of research………… Not as an excuse to party. For a review of Crystal Pistol's debut album click here.

Get Well Soon from HMI!
Faster Pussycat guitarist Brent Muscat is reportedly making a good recovery following recent surgery to remove a tumour in his mouth.
