Name: Stereo Junks

Interviewed By: Suzie

1) You've been together since 2003; how did the band get together, and do you all share the same influences?

We had some same influences with previous line up but also very different kind of influences which was a good mix when we started but in some point it didn't work anymore. I wanted to take Stereo Junks to a higher level . I always try to find new ways to impress my rock 'n' roll. Don't wanna recycle same old shit all over again. That's pointless. I wanna go forward . Of couse everything you do is done before but the best thing is to find good mix of old shit and new shit. There's gonna be very different kind of songs on forthcoming release but of course all the song has their typical Stereo Junks evilness, raw power and motion.

2) You've been in the studio over the summer. How did that go, and any new releases planned?

Studio time has been awesome! We didn't have any rehearsals before we went to studio which is good cos you are much more open for new ideas and arrangements etc. bad side is that recording takes much more time.

3) Where do you get the inspiration for your songs?

From life, love, people and FRUSTRATION

4) You're one of the new wave of sleaze bands - does it feel like there is something of a revival of glam/sleaze at the moment?

Definitely. At the same time you have to remember what goes around comes around. 5 years from now 90% of the kids who listens sleaze bands now are gonna listen totally different kind of music. But of course they will always still listen to Stereo Junks! (hahh)

5) With bands like yourselves, CrashDiet and 69 Eyes, what is it about countries such as Finland and Sweden that produce great sleaze bands?

Hard to say. We had/still have Hanoi Rocks which i think has been big influence for many of us when we started to play...At least for me it was big part when i started. Of course not anymore cos we do new generation (stereo junks generation) rnr, 80's influences are almost gone. I dunno how sleazy or glam or blaah my band is, i just make music that's all.

6) You cite your influences as Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue etc - do you live the kind of lifestyle those bands are famous for, and what's the most rock n' roll thing that's happened to you as a band?

I didn't know the guys of GNR or MOTLEY so it's hard to say what kind of lifestyle they were living. If you feel like you need something, drugs, booze or whatever then you have to take it. But not like you're suppose to take this and this cos it was written in a book. I live good life, my life is full of rock 'n' roll and i can die with smile on my face any time :)

7) What do you think of the whole 'emo' craze at the moment?

Well, it's ok. There's good new bands but at the same time like every kind of trend brings loads of crap along. There's horrible emo bands that makes me sick...

8) How did you enjoy playing the UK, and do you have any plans to come back?
It was great. We played small clubs and i really enjoyed that! I wanna come back as soon as possible. Hello to booking agencies!! I love UK like my mama! Is your magazine big? Maybe I could come and work for you and move there. Ok? :)

9) Finally, anything else you want to add?

Thanks.
