Name: Million Dollar Reload

Interviewed By: Kerri

Now we know that your debut album ‘Anthems of Degeneration’ is out soon, how do you feel about its release?

We are all very excited with a tingle of satisfaction that after a year of hard work we finally found our feet. To say that we're proud of the album is an understatement.

Any particular tracks on the album that stand out to you as a band??

Its hard for the band to pick a favourite. Our songs are our babies and its hard to pick a favourite child!! No doubt listeners will soon have their own opinions.

Some would say that 15 tracks is quite ambitious for a debut album. What are your thoughts on this and was there any reason why all 15 tracks made it onto the album??

Basically we are an ambitious band. At the time of going to the studio we had over 20 songs and there was a lot of heated discussions within the band to get the number of tracks down so we settled at 15. Each track was evaluated but the main reason for keeping a track was how it went down with live crowds. Also, we believe to get 15 track CD nowadays is getting your moneys worth and also giving the fans something to get their teeth into.

Some of you were in tribute band Gunz N Roses prior to the formation of M$R. What happened to bring about the change, did you just get tired of playing someone elses songs??

We were that good that our heads got too big for our wigs & hats – only joking!! Gunz was a great financial earner but we wanted to play & record our own shit. It did certainly tighten us up as a unit and that is very evident on the album and if you saw us live.

What events have meant the most to the band??

2006 was an excellent year for us. We opened for Alice Cooper, partied with Steven Adler & Gilby Clarke but the highlight was the completion of the album.

What things influence you when writing songs??

We are influenced by our favourite bands (GNR, Aerosmith, Skid Row, AC/DC) but we try to write music that we get excited about and lyrics about our experiences.

Northern Ireland currently seems to be churning out some quality hard rock and heavy metal bands. Do any of the other bands on the scene inspire you?? And do you feel it is easier for the bands in mainland Britain to get noticed?

At the moment, N Ireland is full of fantastic bands but I wouldn't say we're influenced by any of them. We have a lot of respect for bands and the competition is very high – but also very friendly and we've played with some of the most talented people in the country, both North & South.

Bands in the mainland, especially London have a clear advantage given that record labels won't pay £35 to fly over to check out the scene in N Ireland. Most bands here can't afford to lug all their gear over there so they're stuck. The sad thing is that its their loss - the music scene here has never been better.

What does 2007 hold for M$R?

1. World domination
2. Tour the album to death
3. Start a Guns N' Roses tribute band
4. Shave Hairmetal Ireland!!! (ummm don't know about that guys!!!)

Anything else you wish to say?

Thanks for all your support over the last 12 months. We hope we entertained all that came to see us and we hope to see ya all real soon.
