| Bio
- Formed in September 04, Silver Bullet has come a long way
in a short space of time. The band was put together from the remaining members
of Glasgow rock band “Dimestore". A band which had among others,
Bryan Dirkie (vox), Koln Mortimer (lead) And John Dennison (Bass) in they’re
ranks. When Dimestore had reached its natural conclusion, Bryan and Koln
stuck together to form a rawer and sleazier band in the same mould as Motley
Crue and Guns’n’Roses. They were prepared to spend time to sift
through the massive response they received through local advertising in
order to secure what they felt were the people they needed to take the band
to the top.
First came Paul Meechan on drums. A well respected figure on the local metal and thrash scene, Then a few short weeks later Scotty McGill on bass. Scotty had done a lot of previous studio work, most notably with Pete Townshend. The band had a few months writing and practicing their own material before unleashing it upon the crowds of local Glasgow venues, It was from the Fantastic reactions that they gained from audiences and great support from local venues and promoters that the band made the decision to head for the massively respected chem. 19 studios (Sluts of Trust, Delgado’s) to record six tracks with Producer Andy Bell for the aptly named E.P. “Whiskey, Women And Barfights”. The E.P. captured the essence and feel of their stunning live performances and gave the listener an insight to the chaotic lifestyles that Silver Bullet have become so quickly accustomed to. Upon hearing the reaction that listeners had to the recording, the band felt that the only thing for it was to turn it up a notch. The only way for them to achieve this was to recruit a second guitarist to add to the already explosive mix. Enter old Dimestore chum John Dennison. The bands reshuffle was not yet complete and a change of drummers quickly followed. The band only ever had one candidate in mind. Paul Sneddon. A popular and well-respected drummer who had recently toured with Terrorvision, and had played with local bands “uncle Jack” and “black Pearl”. Once they had secured their man, Silver Bullet retired to the deepest darkest underbelly of Glasgow for 3 months, and emerged as an even more awesome and powerful live band than even they had imagined. With major label interest, a development deal in place from chromium
records/e3 records, a first single release in march, and two new tracks
recorded at riverside studios ,(travis,tori amos,jerry lee lewis,bmx bandits,etc)
a British tour and a full-length album in the works. The next year will
prove to be even more chaotic and crazy than the last one. |
